The Smith Academy of International Languages held its 9th annual Japanese Culture Festival (bunkasai), where students played taiko drums, performed Japanese dances, and engaged in a variety of festival activities. Older high school and college students were able to participate in a cosplay contest and gave speeches in Japanese. Japan Information Center Director Kurata gave opening remarks.
