Consul General Hanatani speaking at the reception
Consul General Hanatani invited participants from the 2011 Japan Foundation Invitational Group Tour Program for North American Educators, Mr. Greg Ewing and Mr. Marvin Crumbs, to report on their experiences. Mr. Ewing is the ESOL/Foreign Language Education supervisor for Cobb County Schools, and Mr. Crumbs is the Principal of Columbus High School in Columbus, GA.

In Cobb County, North Cobb High School and Campbell High School, as well as the aforementioned Columbus High School all have Japanese language instruction in which large numbers of students vigorously study.

Many other principals and Japanese teachers were present for the report, including guests from Riverwood International Charter School, Roswell High School, Elkins Pointe Middle School, Towers High School, and Milton High School, which is scheduled to begin offering Japanese.

The two participants gave their reports on a variety of aspects of the trip, including differences in Japanese culture, society, and education which they observed while in Japan.
