Consul General Shinozuka’s courtesy visit to Commissioner Lynne Riley, Georgia Department of Revenue
On January 29, Consul General Shinozuka visited the Georgia Department of Revenue to pay a courtesy call to Commissioner Lynne Riley. Commissioner Riley was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to serve as the State Revenue Commissioner at the end of 2014 when she was a member of the GA House of Representatives. While serving as a House Representative, Mrs. Riley helped foster relations with Japan on many occasions including co-sponsoring a resolution in the Georgia State Assembly to support Japan following the Great East Japan Earthquake. Another resolution she co-sponsored commemorated the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta. While expressing gratitude for her kind support in the past years, CG Shinozuka asked for Commissioner Riley's continued cooperation and understanding in order to strengthen the future of Japan-Georgia relations.
