Grand Opening of Marukan Vinegar U.S.A. New Brewery in Griffin, GA
On October 25th, Consul General Shinozuka attended the grand opening of Marukan Vinegar U.S.A.’s new brewery in Griffin, GA. Many guests joined the celebration, including Division Director Scott McMurray of the Georgia Department of Economic Development; Chairman Chuck Copeland of Griffin-Spaulding Development Authority; and President Shin Urano of Kajima Building & Design Group Inc. as well as Mr. Denzaemon Sasada, Owner, Chairman and CEO of Marukan Vinegar Co. Ltd in Japan, his wife, and several business partners and local officials.
Marukan Vinegar Co. Ltd., founded in 1649, is a famous vinegar maker in Japan that prides itself on its high quality vinegar brewed using traditional methods developed over 300 years. Anticipating an expansion of vinegar markets in the U.S., Marukan established their second facility in Griffin, GA in addition to their California facility.
The vinegar, made in Georgia with Griffin water and California rice, is expected to contribute to the rich cuisine of the U.S.
