Honorary Georgia Citizenship and Official Georgia State Flag Awarded to Consul General Sunaga (December 16, 2015)

    On December 16, the Consul General of Japan in Atlanta, Mr. Kazuo Sunaga, was awarded Honorary Georgia Citizenship and presented with an Official Georgia State Flag in recognition of this service to strengthening ties between the State of Georgia and Japan. In the Proclamation signed by the Secretary of State, Mr. Brian Kemp, Consul General Sunaga is called a Goodwill Ambassador for the State. Official State Flags presented by the Governor to those who have contributed to Georgia in various ways. Consul General Sunaga received the Flag for his contributions to promoting friendly relations between the State of Georgia and Japan.
    The Proclamation and Official Flag were presented by Representative Joe Wilkinson, Georgia State General Assembly House of Representatives, to Consul General Sunaga, who will soon to be completing his nearly two and a half year tour of duty and returning to Tokyo.
