Consul General Shinozuka’s visit to Gaffney, South Carolina
On April 14th, Consul General Shinozuka visited Cherokee County, South Carolina and met with Gaffney City Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem Boone Peeler. CG Shinozuka told Councilman Peeler that Suminoe Textiles in Gaffney is one of the 188 Japanese businesses in South Carolina and he anticipates the relationship between the Japanese community and the city of Gaffney will continue to prosper. Councilman Peeler spoke about how the Japanese company in Gaffney has had a positive impact on local employment and he hopes to continue to promote good relations with the Japanese Community in the area.
After the meeting, CG Shinozuka toured the Suminoe Textiles factory where he spoke with Mr. Satoru Kuninaka, Suminoe Textile President and COO, and other company executives.
