Consul General Shinozuka’s Courtesy Visit to Former President Jimmy Carter
On July 13, Consul General Shinozuka paid a courtesy visit to former President Jimmy Carter. Consul General Shinozuka spoke about President Carter’s leadership and contributions to building a strong relationship not only between Japan and the United States, but also between Japan and Georgia.
President Carter said he had come to cherish the relationship with Japan since his time as the Governor of Georgia. He also expressed fond memories from the meetings with Emperor Showa and Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress’s visit to Atlanta, and gratitude for Japan’s support for the Carter Center.
