Consul General Shinozuka’s visit to North Carolina
April 25-26th, Consul General Shinozuka visited North Carolina and paid a courtesy call to State Secretary of Commerce John Skvarla.
Consul General Shinozuka expressed his gratitude to the North Carolina for its continued support of the Japanese community and companies in the state. Secretary Skvarla remarked on the significant contributions to the improvement of the state economy, employment, and tax revenue has been generated by Japanese companies in North Carolina and their hope to invite more Japanese companies to North Carolina.
During the visit, Consul General Shinozuka visited the North Carolina Triangle Region (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill) and presented Certificates of the Consul General's Commendation to the Nippon Club of the Triangle and the Triangle Japanese Business Association. The certificate recognizes organizations and individuals for their hard work and dedication to promoting mutual understanding and friendship between various countries or regions and Japan.
Additionally, Consul General Shinozuka paid a courtesy call to the Chapel Hill Mayor, gave remarks at the first annual General Meeting of the Japan-America Society of North Carolina, visited a Japanese company, the North Carolina Japan Center, and met with people from various fields involved in exchanges between Japan and North Carolina during this visit.
