Consul General Shinozuka’s visit to Savannah, GA
On July 27-28th, Consul General Shinozuka attended a roundtable discussion entitled “Why Trade Matters with Japan” held at the World Trade Center Savannah in Savannah, Georgia.
This meeting was attended by Representative Buddy Carter, US House of Representatives, as well as political and economic dignitaries from Savannah, including Savannah Mayor Eddie DeLoach. The city of Savannah expressed the importance of trade with Japan, promoting free trade, and a high level of trade agreements, especially with the Port of Savannah.
Prior to the roundtable discussion, Consul General Shinozuka expressed his gratitude to Representative Carter for their support of Japanese companies and residents doing business in Georgia.
During this visit, Consul General Shinozuka visited the Port of Savannah, as well as the adjacent city of Pooler. In Pooler, Consul General Shinozuka paid a courtesy visit to Pooler Mayor Mike Lamb and visited the Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems America plant.
