Calpis America, Inc. Grand Opening in Peachtree City, Georgia
On June 20, Consul General Sunaga attended the Calpis America Inc. grand opening ceremony and reception held in Peachtree City, Georgia. In this auspicious event, President Fujio Yamada of Calpis Co. Ltd. Japan participated along with other guests including Chairman Broun, Fayette County Board of Commissioners, Mayor Fleisch of Peachtree City, Mr. McMurray, Director of International Investment, GA Department of Economic Development, and Mr. Hiraguri, Acting Chairman of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Georgia. The grand opening was celebrated by as many as 200 guests representing Japanese and American businesses and communities.
Calpis America, Inc. (President: Mr. Masato Yoshida), an American subsidiary of Calpis Co. Ltd., is a production and sales hub in the United States, for its product, "Calsporin," a probiotic feed additive for farm and other animals, established in October, 2012 in Peachtree City, GA. The new facility was delivered in February, 2014. $20 million has been invested and 42 jobs will be created.
