Consul General Sunaga’s visit to The Carter Center
On June 14, Consul General (CG)Sunaga attended the meeting of The Carter Center Board of Councilors as a guest. Prior to the meeting, CG Sunaga met Mr. Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States and co-founder of The Carter Center, to introduce himself. During the Board of Councilors meeting, CG Sunaga was introduced to the participants as a newly arrived Japanese Consul General and received a warm welcome. The Carter Center is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 1982 in Atlanta by former President Carter and Mrs. Rosalynn Carter. The Center seeks to advance human rights, resolve conflicts, and to prevent and eradicate infectious diseases. President Carter received the Nobel Peace Prize, in part, for his activities through The Carter Center.
