Courtesy Visit to the Economic Development Leadership at GA Capitol (September 17, 2013)
On September 17, 2013, Consul General (CG) Sunaga visited the Georgia State Capitol on a courtesy visit with Senator Frank Ginn, Chairman of the Senate Economic Development Committee, Representative Ron Stephens, Chairman of the House Economic Development Committee, and Representative Joe Wilkinson to discuss the Georgia economy as well as the activities of Japanese companies in the State. Based on the recent growth in business and trade between Japan and Georgia, CG Sunaga sought to build an even better understanding and create further cooperation with Georgia's leaders. On this occasion, CG Sunaga also expressed his gratitude for the compassion and support demonstrated by the Assembly Representatives in the form of two resolutions for Japan after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami sponsored by the then-members of the House Economic Development Committee: one in the wake of the disaster in March, 2011 and the other at the one-year commemoration in 2012.
