CG Sunaga's Lecture at Georgia State University
December 4, 2013
On December 4, Consul General Sunaga was welcomed by Georgia State University Associate Professor Dr. Kim Reimann to present a lecture to students of Japanese economics and politics. Approximately 30 students attended the lecture which focused on Japan’s Economic Policy, including discussions on the current state of the Japanese economy, the ‘Three Arrows’ of Prime Minister Abe’s economic policy known as “Abenomics,” and the trend toward economic partnerships such as the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
All of the students who attended the lecture showed a strong interest and asked many questions in the Question and Answer Session held after the lecture. Questions from the students included such topics as the re-operation of nuclear power plants, the idea of increasing immigration to deal with the problem of a low birthrate and aging population, and the Japan-China relationship.
