Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc. Georgia Plant Celebrates the Grand Opening of Building 3

    On June 27, Consul General Sunaga was invited to attend the Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas Grand Opening ceremony for its third production facility in Monroe, Georgia.

    Attendees included CEO and Chairman Ohnuma, President Sato, executives and stakeholders from Hitachi Automotive Ltd. in Japan along with Georgia Secretary of State Kemp, Walton County Chairman Little, and Mr. McMurray, Director of International Investment, GA Department of Economic Development. The grand opening was celebrated by as many as 150 guests representing Japanese and American businesses and communities.

    Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas Inc., a subsidiary of Hitachi Automotive Ltd., headquartered in Japan, is investing $80 Million towards expanding the Georgia facility in response to growing demand of automotive components manufacturing and sales operations. The Georgia facilities currently have approximately 450 employees, and the expansion will add up to 250 new jobs. In April, Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc. received one of Georgia’s 2014 “Manufacturer of the Year” awards for their “commitment to manufacturing in education, community service, and economic growth” from Governor Nathan Deal.
