Kakehashi Project Welcoming Event

On March 24, twenty-three students from Takfu Higashi Senior High School in Fukui Prefecture participanting in the KAKEHASHI Project, a youth-exchange program between Japan and the United States, attended a welcoming event held at Elkins Pointe Middle Schoolin Fulton County, Georgia.
CG Sunaga gave remarks expressing his gratitude to all those involved in organizing the event and to the host families. He went on to express his hopes that the participants in the exchange would take advantage of this opportunity and benefit from this experience in the future.
At the event, Elkins Pointe Middle School students who participated in the KAKEHASHI Project presented a video showing their time in Japan. They said they would do their best to use their experience to further the Japan-U.S. friendship and to become bridges between Japan and the U.S.
During the presentation given by the Takefu Higashi High School students, everyone was divided into four groups and introduced to Japan in terms of four different aspects, specifically: school lunch; Kanji; Japanese technology; and Washi, Japanese traditional paper.
