The Grand Opening Ceremony for Kobelco Construction Machinery USA Inc. New Plant in Spartanburg, SC
On May 4th, Consul General Shinozuka visited Macon-Bibb, Georgia to pay a courtesy visit to Mayor Robert Reichert.
On June 2, Consul General Shinozuka attended the grand opening ceremony for Kobelco Construction Machinery USA Inc new plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The opening ceremony had about 130 guests in attendance including; Kobelco Construction Machinery Company President & CEO Mr. Kazuhide Naraki, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Ms. Jennifer Noel Fletcher, Spartanburg County Council/Economic Development Committee Chairman Mr. David Britt, Kobelco Construction executives and affiliates, and US Officials.
Kobelco Construction Machinery Company is a subsidiary of Kobelco Construction Machinery USA Inc. (President & CEO Katsuhiko Morita). A total of 5 billion yen has been invested in the new hydraulic excavator production facility. The plant is expected to employ about 150 people and will help expand market shares in the United States and Europe.
