Opening of the New Tractor Factory at Kubota Industrial Equipment Corporation

    On April 8, 2013, an opening ceremony of the new tractor factory was held at Kubota Industrial Equipment Corporation (KIEC) at Jefferson, GA. Acting Consul General Joji Miyamori was a guest to the ceremony along with Governor Nathan Deal, GA Economic Development Commissioner Chris Cummisky, Jefferson Mayor Jim Joyner. The ceremony was also attended by the leadership from Kubota Corporation, the parent company of KIEC in Japan, including Chairman Yasuo Masumoto. The new $73 million manufacturing facility will produce as many as 22,000 popular L-type tractors. The expansion of this new facility is expected to add 200 more jobs to the area.
