Morinaga America Foods Groundbreaking Ceremony in Mebane, North Carolina
On June 5, Consul General Sunaga attended the Morinaga America Foods, Inc. groundbreaking ceremony held in Mebane, North Carolina.
North Carolina Governor McCrory, Congressman Price, Congressman Coble, Orange County Chairman Jacobb, and Mebane Mayor Stephenson, and Chairman Morinaga from Morinaga HQs in Japan were among the approximately 100 participants and members of the media in attendance at the groundbreaking ceremony.
Morinaga and Company, a Japanese confectionary company, invested $1.2million in establishing a new manufacturing facility for its subsidiary company, Morinaga America Foods, in 2013. The company plans to create 90 new jobs and is aiming to begin production by June 2015. (Source: NC Government Website)
