Toyota Industries Compressor Parts America Grand Opening in Pendergrass, GA
On October 9, the grand opening ceremony for Toyota Industries Compressor Parts America (TICA) was held in Pendergrass, Georgia.
In attendance at the ceremony were those VIPs including Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, Representative Doug Collins, Chairman of Jackson County Commission Tom Crow, President Akira Onishi of Toyota Industries Corporation Japan (TICO), Katsuhisa Shimokawa, Managing Director of Denso Corporation, Consul General Kazuo Sunaga as well as business associates.
Governor Deal congratulated TICA on how much the company had progressed/advanced as a manufacturing facility since the ground breaking ceremony held two years ago. Consul General Sunaga expressed his gratitude for all the support for TICA from the state to county and cities. During this ceremony, a $200,000 check was presented to the North Georgia Community Foundation for a High School Scholarship fund from TICA.
The TICA company (led by Mr. Haruhiko Kimata, President), the third production facility of the North America subsidiary of Toyota Industries Corporation Compressor Division, began production of compressor parts for automobile air conditioning in September 2013 with total investment $350 million and 320 employees. Also in 2013, TICA and TD Automotive Compressor GA (TCGA)began a $190 million joint expansion plan which would create 120 new jobs.
