Attendance at the Opening Ceremony of the WNC Japanese Culture Center (March 1, 2015)
On March 1, Consul General Sunaga attended the opening ceremony for the “WNC Japanese Culture Center” (WNC: Western North Carolina) in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
At the ceremony, CG Sunaga spoke of the opening of the Japanese Culture Center as the realization of a long-held dream of Mr. and Mrs. Suzuki (Center Representative Mr. Manabu Suzuki and Center Director Mrs. Emiko Suzuki). He expressed his respect for the Suzukis and his wishes for continued success for the Center.
Hendersonville Mayor Barbara Volk and South Carolina Japan-America Association President Ryo Nagasaka, among others, were in attendance to share their well wishes, along with ikebana (flower arranging) and tea ceremony demonstrations.
