Delta International Culture Expo
June 14
In order to further encourage diversity as well as cultural awareness, Delta Airlines held its first International Culture Expo at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. In addition to Japan, a variety of countries including India, South Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, South Africa, Ghana, and Switzerland participated and set up booths to introduce their countries’ cultures.
Delta’s International Customer Service Supervisor, Kazuhiro Uechi, commented on how glad he was to see that the Japanese display was well decorated. Roughly 120 people attended the expo and appreciated the Japan booth’s display and materials. At the Japan booth, Consulate volunteers Michael Brantley and Minako Ozawa wore happi and yukata, and wrote guests’ names in Japanese in addition to handing out pamphlets and information.
