Japanese Film Festival at Georgia Tech - March 31, 2008 (Atlanta, GA)

Consul General Ogawa giving remarks

The Japan Information Center, in cooperation with the Georgia Institute of Technology, presented a Japanese Film Festival entitled "Ghosts, Legends, and Technology in Japanese Cinema." Four films were shown: 1953's Ugetsu ("Stories of Moonlight"), 1964's Kwaidan Parts I-IV, and 2001's Kairo ("Pulse").

The showings were held over four days: March 25, 27, 28, and 31. Prior to the final showing, a reception was held in the lobby of the Student Success Center at Georgia Tech, the venue for the showings, where Consul General Ogawa provided opening remarks to the viewers. The evening proved not only introduced Japanese suspense films to many Atlanta natives, but allowed for the creation of a deeper relationship between Georgia Tech and the Consulate General.
