JET Program Returnee Reception

Seven JET participants came to this year's returnee reception.
As with years past, a reception was held this year for returning JET program participants to share their experiences, highlights, and impressions from their time spent abroad. Some had been in Japan for multiple years, returning with a deep understanding and appreciation for the Japanese lifestyle and culture.
In addition to job recruiting agents, the presentations included one by YKK America President and CEO Alex Gregory, who gave returning JETs advice on job-hunting in America and the virtues of flexibility in finding employment.
Invitees listened to presentations by JET participants who returned to America this year, as well as Japanese job recruiting agents and Mr. Gregory.
Keiko Scott from the Japan Information Center gave a brief presentation about the Japan Caravan school visit program.
Finally, JIC member Keiko Scott spoke to returnees about the Japan Caravan school visit program, and encouraged the JET returnees to utilize their overseas experience to educate local elementary school students about Japan.
