From June 27 to July 8, 2014
Purpose of This Program:
1) To provide Japanese American students with an opportunity to learn various aspects of Japan (politics, economy, society, history, culture, language, etc.).
2) To promote mutual understanding and exchanges between Japanese and Japanese American youth.
Number of Participants:
- 5
Qualifications:
- Japanese American High school students. *High school students with multi racial background are highly encouraged to apply.
- Individuals who hold American Nationality and who do NOT hold Japanese Nationality.
- Individuals who have a strong interest in Japan.
- Individuals who lack opportunity and need assistance to learn about Japan.
- Individuals who were not previously invited to Japan by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan on the same program.
Location of Home-Stay:
- “Kanto” area
Expenses to be Covered:
- Round-trip air ticket (Economy class) between US-Japan (including airport taxes and fuel surcharges)
- Transportation fee at San Francisco (June 27) as well as within Japan
- Hotel costs, meals, excursion fees, insurance
Expenses not Covered:
- Passport issuance fees
- Transportation between your home and the nearest airport
- Communication expenses
- Personal expenses (such as souvenirs, the use of the hotel mini bar and other hotel services,etc.)
- June 27 Pre-departure Orientation in San Francisco
- June 28 Departure from San Francisco
- June 29 Arrival at Narita
- June 30 Tokyo Tour
- July 1 Visit Japanese high school
- July 2 Trip to Kansai Area
- July 3 Trip to Kansai Area
- July 4 Trip to Kansai Area/ Home Stay
- July 5 Home Stay
- July 6 Home Stay
- July 7 Visit Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan/Tokyo Tour
- July 8 Departure from Japan
