On November 14 the Consulate General of Japan held a reception in honor of returning Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET) participants at the Consul General's residence. A panel discussion was held, with several recruiting agencies which regularly hire for Japanese firms in America giving presentations on finding employment after completing their tours in Japan. Pasona, Interesse International, and Win Advisory Group all sent representatives to come speak to the seven returning JETs in attendance.

Consul General Hanatani also gave a speech at the reception, encouraging the returning JETs and thanking them for their hard work. The JETs themselves were also given the opportunity to present their experiences and impressions of their time spent in Japan; some had Powerpoint presentations while others decided to speak without slides, but all of them were gracious and thankful for the time they were able to spend in Japan.
