Sister City Organizations
Alabama Georgia North Carolina South Carolina
There are many of opportunities to deepen relations from youth and artist exchange programs to seminars and travel grants. If your city or town is interested in establishing a sister-city, contact your state coordinator (see below) or Ethel Norris, Sister Cities International, 120 South Payne Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 (703-836-3535). If you already have a sister-city and would like more information, contact John Donaldson (see address and phone number above) or contact the Japan Local Government Center (CLAIR), 666 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10103, 212-246-5542). Sister-cities work because of active volunteers and the relationships are like any other living thing; they need continual sustenance. What project would be of interest to your local community? The next time you are in Japan, why don't you make a point of visiting your sister-city?
