Professor Yarime Speaking at Georgia Tech
Professor Masaru Yarime, an Associate Professor for the University of Tokyo's Graduate Program in Sustainability Science, gave a lecture at Georgia Tech titled, "Implementing Sustainability Innovation: Corporate Strategy, Public Policy, and Institutional Design." Professor Yarime discussed several real-world examples of innovation in sustainability, such as the initiative to introduce lead-free solder, elimination of CFCs as a gas propellant, and production of low-emission vehicles. Professor Yarime compared the relative success and failure of these initiatives in different countries, and explained what factors led to differing results.
