Consul General Hanatani participated in a practice session with the Japan Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team. The team was in a training camp in Peachtree City, practicing for the 2010 Joseph F. Lyttle World Challenge, held June 1-6 in Warm Springs, GA (May 29, 2010).

Consul General Hanatani visited the Smith Academy of International Languages in Charlotte, North Carolina, for their Japan Bunkasai event. Smith Academy received a grant from the Center for Global Partnership, part of the Japan Foundation of New York, to teach students how to make and use Taiko drums (May 15, 2010).
