ハリケーン・サンディ（HURRICANE SANDY）の接近に関する注意喚起（第２報）
特に、今回のハリケーンは、ニューヨーク州東部には寒気団と交わることで被害を拡大させる可能性が高い、とされており、十分な注意が必要です。サンディが大規模なハリケーンであることから、被害は、ニュージャージー州を中心にノースカロライナ州、バージニア州、更にはニューヨーク州からメイン州に及ぶ可能性があるとのことです。特に、沿岸部などにおいては、大雨や風災害が予測されます。
在留邦人の皆様におかれましては、今後の気象情報に注意するとともに、接近時には激しい雨や落雷、強風による落下物、停電や断水といったインフラの寸断等に十分ご留意ください。
- ハリケーンの影響については下記のとおり。
・Storm surges from 4 to 11ft along the Eastern seaboard from North Carolina/Virginia to Maine.
・1ft of rain over the next 24 hours primarily in the Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, and New York areas.
・Very damaging, sustained winds possibly exceeding 75mph for long periods of time along the eastern seaboard.
・Up to 2ft. of snow possible along the arctic front in Kentucky, North Carolina, and West Virginia. - アトランタ市内への影響：
サンディによる影響は少ないものの強風（25-40 mph）が予想され、今週にかけて気温が下がる（upper 30s and low 40s）とされています。
