Consul General Maeda presents Mr. Robert Marsh, Chair Emeritus of JASG, the Foreign Minister of Japan’s Commendation Award

On December 18th, Consul General Maeda attended the Japan-America Society of Georgia’s Annual Holiday Celebration Gala and recognized Mr. Robert Marsh for receiving the Foreign Minister of Japan’s Commendation Award.

 

JASG, one of the Consulate’s closest partners, has been active in economic and cultural areas with the aim of enhancing U.S.-Japan exchange, and played a vital role in fostering Japan-U.S. friendship for 45 years since its inception. The gala was a perfect opportunity to celebrate JASG’s events and achievements in 2024 and enhance collaboration among members towards the years ahead.

 

During the event, Consul General Maeda expressed his appreciation to JASG for their contribution to date and presented the Foreign Minister of Japan’s Commendation Award to Mr. Robert Marsh, JASG Chair Emeritus and President of GlobalMesh.

 

Mr. Marsh has been a dedicated board member of JASG for over 10 years, serving as Chair between 2013 and 2015. He has made significant contributions to strengthening Japan-U.S. friendship. He also took a leadership in the construction project of the Japan-Georgia Peace Bell tower now installed at the Carter Center, by which he contributed to the strengthening of the bond between

Hiroshima and Georgia.

 

The Foreign Minister of Japan’s Commendation Award honors individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, recognizing their contributions to promoting friendship between Japan and other countries.
