Consul General Matsuda Welcomed Ambassador Yamada to Georgia (November 4-5, 2025)
On November 4 and 5, Consul General Matsuda welcomed Ambassador Yamada to Georgia, engaged in a series of official visits and meetings across Georgia together to strengthen ties with state leadership, cultural institutions, and Japan-related organizations.
【November 4】
●Courtesy Call on Governor Brian Kemp
Ambassador Yamada and Consul General Matsuda met with Governor Kemp to exchange views on Japan–Georgia relations, including economic cooperation, investment by Japanese companies, and educational and cultural exchanges.
●Visit to the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park
Ambassador and Consul General toured the historic site and deepened his understanding of Dr. King’s legacy and the history of the American civil rights movement.
●Dinner Meeting with Japanese Residents
Ambassador Yamada and Consul General Matsuda met with members of the Japanese community in the Atlanta area and exchanged views on their experiences and community engagement.

●Visit to ICA Georgia
Ambassador and Consul General visited ICA Georgia and learned about the institution’s multicultural and international education initiatives.
●Lunch with Members of the Japan-America Society
Ambassador and Consul General held a luncheon meeting with representatives of the Japan-America Society to discuss ongoing cultural and educational collaboration.
●Meeting with the Chair of The Carter Center
Ambassador Yamada and Consul General Matsuda visited The Carter Center and exchanged views with Mr. Jason Carter, the Chair of the Board of Trustees, on peacebuilding, human rights, and international cooperation.
Through these visits, Ambassador and Consul General strengthened partnerships with state officials, educational institutions, and Japan-related organizations, reaffirming the Consulate’s commitment to advancing Japan–Georgia relations.
