On February 1st, 2023, Consul General Maeda gave a speech at the Georgia State Senate and the House of Representatives, to express his gratitude for the adoption of resolutions by each Chamber commending the efforts of the Consulate-General to strengthen cultural, educational, political, and economic ties between Georgia and Japan. The resolutions also acknowledge the 49th anniversary of the establishment of the Consulate-General of Japan in Atlanta, and recognize the long and steady friendship between this state and Japan.

On February 8th, 2023, Consul General Maeda held a reception inviting members of the Georgia-Japan Legislative Caucus within the Georgia General Assembly at his residence. Representatives from Japanese businesses also attended the reception, and legislators had an opportunity to become familiar with the contribution of Japanese businesses to the State of Georgia.
