Visa (Dependent without COE)
This page is for a dependent (spouse or child) of a Japanese National who is applying for a visa without Certificate of Eligibility (COE).
If you are a dependent (spouse or child) of a Permanent Resident, in principle you need a COE to apply for your visa at the Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta.
- If you do not have and cannot obtain a COE, please contact the Consular Section.
Please Note:
- It may take a few months to issue a visa without a COE. For application without a Certificate of Eligibility, the Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta will NOT take any responsibility for delay or denial of a visa.
- Visa application without a COE will only be accepted when an applicant has a reason that she/he cannot obtain a COE.
